Race on Sunday, sell on Monday. Since 2007, Chevrolet has consecutively used the Impala moniker to represent the brand in NASCAR. Over the same period of time, the Impala has dominated the series, taking the checkered flag 79 times.  Chevrolet drivers have also won five NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Manufacturers’ Championships, and Jimmie Johnson (4) and Tony Stewart (1) have collected five NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver’s championships in the Impala. However, change is on the horizon, and Chevrolet has officially announced that it will retire the Impala name from NASCAR by the 2013 season. In its place will be a new nameplate, that will run alongside an all-new production model in the Chevrolet lineup.
